Kristin Tombers, Owner/Operator, Clancey's Meats
Kristin is a Minnesota native and the owner/operator of Clancey’s Meats in Minneapolis since 2003. After an advertising career in Los Angeles in the late 1980s/early 90s, she moved away from corporate life to New York, then Philadelphia, and finally settled back in Minneapolis. With a B.A. in Journalism from Marquette University and work history including construction, snowplow truck driving and seafood sales, she bought an existing meat shop and transformed it. Interested in supplying fresh, local meats and foods to her customers, she brought Clancey’s Meats to life. This old-fashioned meat market focuses on the butchery of humanely- and sustainably-raised whole animals and brings together her passions over great food, the politics of food, and the importance of local sourcing.
