September 12, 2017 Minneapolis Technical and Community College Abby is a self taught pastry chef and $10,000 winner of Food Network's hit show Cupcake Wars. She began Nadia Cakes out of her home kitchen in 2007 with no formal culinary training and three small children in diapers. Abby relocated to the Twin Cities in 2011 after she decided she wanted to raise her children in Minnesota. She now has three successful bakeries, one in her home town of Palmdale California, and two Minnesota locations: Maple Grove and Woodbury. |

Women make up just 20 percent of the boards of S&P 500 companies and Minnesota lags behind the national average in women board members among public companies. Pam Moret serves on the boards of Optimum Mutual Funds and Minnetonka Moccasins, in addition to several nonprofit boards. Alice Richter serves on the board of directors and audit committees for two publicly traded companies and one Fraternal Benefit Society: West Marine, Inc., G&K Services, Inc., and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
